One of the most important life lessons I learned growing up, especially as a homeschooler, was the desire to never stop learning. My parents encouraged me to see everything as an educational opportunity. Not in a strict, boring, strategical way- but in a passionate, warm, and inviting way. Every small thing in life was something to be amazed by: leaves wiggling on the tree branches, prisms of light bouncing off the carpet and walls, the smell of Loblolly Pines after a spring rain. My most important question was always “why?”. Why does it do that? And after that, “what?”. What causes that to happen? This kind of curiosity is common in young children, but life has a way of stifling it out as we grow. Questions are suppressed by a system that tells us to “just trust”- trust the system, the science, the government, etc. Wonder at the little things is ostracized as silly ad a waste of time. But our God is the God of the little things and of the miraculous moments. Every breath is a miracle, and we do well to remember that. To have a childlike wonder at the world is to see life as God intended for us to see it- as the awe inspiring brilliance that can only be created by an all powerful God. It is for this reason that I am homeschooling my children. And it is for this very same reason that I want to share what I learn with other moms. Thank you for joining me on this journey. I would love to learn what you are learning too. Feel free to reach out through my contact page. I’m so glad you’re here!
