Memory Verse Cards

These 32 verse cards were made for the littlest learners at your table. Each one carries just a few words of scripture in big, bold print, with a simple picture cue underneath to help even a child who can’t read yet remember what the card says.

Print them on cardstock, cut them apart, and keep a small stack going. Here are five ways our own family has used them:

• Learn one verse a week. Say it together at meals and again at bedtime.
• Add a hand motion to each verse, like pointing up for “God” or hugging yourself for “love.”
• Say it in a silly voice, then a whisper, then a shout. Repetition is what makes it stick.
• Use the picture cue as a prompt: “What does the heart card say?”
• Let your child hold the card and “teach” it back to you. Teaching is one of the fastest ways to learn.
