Lesson 3.1 — Bumps, Bruises, and Little Tumbles

Module 3 — Everyday Home Situations (Educational Examples)

Active kids collect bumps. This lesson uses that everyday reality to show how homeopathy is discussed around minor knocks — while being crystal clear about when a bump is not minor.

How the tradition talks about it

Arnica is the remedy most associated in homeopathy with the ordinary soreness of minor bumps and overdoing it at the playground. Calendula is traditionally mentioned for gentle care of clean, minor scrapes. That is the extent of it: general, gentle, everyday associations.

The comfort basics that always matter

For a small, everyday bump, the reassuring parent basics are timeless: stay calm, offer a cuddle, clean a minor scrape, and a cool compress can soothe. Your steady presence is often the most comforting thing of all.

Safety note: Call for medical help right away if a child has hit their head and shows drowsiness, vomiting, confusion, unequal pupils, or will not stop crying; if there is heavy bleeding, a wound that gapes, or possible broken bone; or if anything simply feels wrong. When in doubt, get it checked — head injuries in particular are never something to manage at home.

Good to know: The lesson within the lesson: homeopathy’s associations here are limited to minor soreness. Your judgment about when a bump needs a professional always comes first.
